Godhra civic body issues demolition notices to 154 houses
February 03, 2026
Godhra: The Godhra municipality has issued notices to demolish 154 illegally constructed houses on the government-owned Kutan Talavadi land. Officials said that if the encroachments are not removed within seven days, the municipality will carry out demolition action against all illegal structures.
The municipal administration has launched a major drive to remove illegal encroachments across Godhra city. After issuing notices to around 100 houses in the Meshari riverbed, the municipality on Monday served notices to 154 households located on the government-owned Kutan Talavadi area behind Nandla School.
Since the Talavadi is government property, an investigation found that the structures built on the land were unauthorised. In its notice, the municipality stated that all 154 houses were illegally constructed on government pond land and must be demolished by the occupants at their own expense within seven days. Failure to comply will result in the municipality removing the encroachments through official action. DeshGujarat
