February heats up as Gujarat witnesses above-normal temperatures across most regions

Ahmedabad: Temperatures across Gujarat remain above normal at most weather stations, according to the latest weather report issued by the India Meteorological Department this morning. Day temperatures on February 5 stayed higher than average in several parts of the state, while night temperatures also showed a noticeable rise at many locations, a trend that has continued since the beginning of this week.
As per the IMD, Surat recorded the highest maximum temperature at 35.5°C, which is 4.7°C above normal, followed closely by Rajkot at 34.3°C, 4.2°C above normal. Other regions also experienced warmer-than-usual conditions, with Bhuj logging 32.4°C (+2.9°C), Dwarka 30.5°C (+3.6°C), and Porbandar 32.4°C (+2.4°C).
In central Gujarat, Ahmedabad recorded a maximum of 30.2°C, marginally 0.5°C above normal, while Baroda stood at 31.8°C, 0.8°C above normal.
Minimum temperatures also remained significantly higher than normal at several stations, indicating warm nights across the state. Ahmedabad recorded a minimum of 18.8°C, which is 5.6°C above normal, while Gandhinagar and Union Territory Diu also saw night temperatures exceeding normal levels by more than 5°C. The nighttime mercury touched 18.0°C in Vadodara and 19.0°C in Surat.
Relative humidity levels during the morning remained high in parts of Saurashtra and south Gujarat, touching 98% in Amreli and 92% in Bhavnagar, though afternoon humidity dropped considerably.
