Fire at AMC plot engulfs around 50 seized vehicles

Ahmedabad: A fire broke out in vehicles parked in a plot owned by the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) near Khadia Police Station in the city. Two fire brigade vehicles were rushed to the spot after around 50 vehicles detained by the police caught fire. The blaze was brought under control after firefighters sprayed water on the vehicles. The detained and seized vehicles of Khadia Police had been kept in the Municipal Corporation plot.
According to fire officer Praveen Solanki, “The Fire Brigade control room received a message that vehicles detained by the police had caught fire beside Khadia Police Station. Fire brigade teams rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control by spraying water. Around 100 detained vehicles were lying at the site, of which nearly 50 caught fire. The exact cause of the fire is still unknown.”
Firefighters managed to completely control the blaze using water, and no casualties were reported in the incident. It is learned that the detained vehicles of Khadia Police Station were being parked in the AMC plot without formal permission. DeshGujarat
