February 12, 2026
Ahmedabad: In a major step to address the growing traffic congestion in the city, 55 left turns have been reopened, the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) Standing Committee Chairman Devang Dani said. The move aims to improve vehicular flow and reduce bottlenecks at major junctions.
Dani stated that the decision was taken after detailed coordination with the Traffic Police and based on their opinions and technical inputs regarding the reopening of these left turns. Out of around 85 closed left turns across the city, 55 have been reopened, and the process to reopen another 21 left turns has already begun.
The measure is part of a broader plan to streamline traffic movement and provide relief to commuters facing daily congestion. The reopening of left turns is expected to significantly reduce waiting time at traffic signals and improve overall road efficiency. DeshGujarat
