AMC Announces Revised Office Hours for Muslim Employees During Ramadan
February 14, 2026
AHMEDABAD: The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has issued announced change in office timings for Muslim employees in observance of the holy month of Ramadan, which is scheduled to begin on February 19, 2026.
According to the directive issued by Municipal Commissioner Banchhanidhi Pani, Muslim staff members across all zonal offices and departments will be permitted to leave the office one hour earlier than the standard closing time. While the regular office hours conclude at 6:10 PM, these employees are authorized to leave at 5:10 PM throughout the month.
To ensure that the total working hours remain unchanged, the circular stipulates that employees opting for this benefit must report for duty one hour earlier in the morning. Accordingly, their revised reporting time will be 9:30 AM instead of the usual 10:30 AM.
The order instructs all departmental heads and zonal officers to take note of this change and inform the relevant staff members. This seasonal adjustment is a standard administrative practice intended to accommodate the fasting and prayer schedules of employees during the month of Ramadan. DeshGujarat
