Ahmedabad: Construction of a 14-storey, 550-bed super-specialty hospital at Sola Civil Hospital on SG Highway is in its final phase and is expected to become operational within four to five months. Built at an estimated cost of ₹400 crore, the facility will significantly enhance advanced healthcare access for residents of Ahmedabad and nearby villages.
Currently, over 2,000 patients visit the Sola Civil OPD daily, with super-specialty cases referred to Civil Hospital. Superintendent Dr. Deepika Singhal said the new block will offer in-house services in neurology, cardiology, nephrology, urology and gastroenterology. PIU engineer Nishit Shah added that the hospital is being equipped with modern infrastructure, including a 40-bed dialysis centre and 360 beds in general wards.
The complex will provide parking for more than 400 vehicles, emergency and diagnostic services on the ground floor, OPDs on the first to third floors, dialysis and support facilities on the fourth, general wards from the fifth to seventh, specialised ICUs and labs on the eighth, cardiac OTs and cathlabs on the ninth, additional OTs and ICUs on the tenth, special rooms on the eleventh and twelfth, and extra wards on the thirteenth floor.
With six advanced operation theatres, two cathlabs and multiple critical care units, the new block is expected to ease referral pressure on Civil Hospital and deliver comprehensive super-specialty treatment closer to patients’ homes. DeshGujarat
