February 24, 2026
Bhavnagar: In a significant boost to regional air connectivity, direct flight services between Bhavnagar and Mumbai will resume from March 29, 2026. Ticket bookings for the service will open on February 25, the Gujarat government said in a press release.
The direct air link between the industrially important city of Bhavnagar and Mumbai had remained suspended for a long period due to technical reasons. Responding to persistent public demand and representations from local stakeholders, Bhavnagar MP and Union Minister of State Nimuben Bambhania took up the matter with the Union Civil Aviation Ministry, an official release stated.
As part of her efforts, Bambhania made a detailed representation to Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu and held phased discussions with Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Muralidhar Mohol, along with consultations with various airline operators. Following these efforts and the Centre’s positive response, IndiGo has decided to operate two daily ATR flights between Bhavnagar and Navi Mumbai from March 29, the release further stated.
According to the schedule, flights from Bhavnagar to Navi Mumbai will depart at 8:35 am and 8:50 pm daily, though the official schedule is yet to be announced by the airline.
The move is expected to significantly benefit Bhavnagar’s business and industrial sectors by restoring direct connectivity with Mumbai, which serves as a major aviation hub, enabling onward travel to other parts of the country.
Expressing gratitude for the approval, Bambhania thanked Union Minister K. Rammohan Naidu, Minister of State Muralidhar Mohol, and Union Cabinet Minister Mansukh Mandaviya for their support and cooperation. She also congratulated the people of Bhavnagar and urged citizens to take full advantage of the renewed air service. DeshGujarat
