Escalation in Middle East
The disruptions come after the United States confirmed its involvement in military strikes against Iran. US President Donald Trump stated that the US had begun “major combat operations in Iran.”
Israel announced a “preemptive strike” under an operation reportedly named “Roar of the Lion,” targeting multiple Iranian military sites. Explosions were reported in Tehran, including near offices linked to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In response, Iran vowed a “crushing” retaliation, and the Israel Defence Forces said they were intercepting missiles launched from Iran.
Following the strikes, both Israel and Iran reportedly shut their respective airspaces, while other countries in the region imposed temporary airspace restrictions as a precautionary measure. The situation has disrupted international flight paths, particularly those transiting through Gulf and West Asian corridors.
Airlines are closely monitoring developments, and further schedule changes cannot be ruled out depending on the evolving security situation. Passengers have been advised to check with their respective airlines before proceeding to the airport. DeshGujarat
