Vadodara Gas hikes industrial gas prices; domestic rates unchanged
March 28, 2026
Vadodara: Vadodara Gas Ltd (VGL) has revised its gas tariffs for industrial consumers in the city, while leaving rates for other segments unchanged. Industrial users will now have to pay ₹2 more per standard cubic metre (SCM).
According to reports, the hike was introduced last week amid emerging supply constraints, with global factors affecting the availability of natural gas.
Officials said the tariff for Minimum Guaranteed Offtake (MGO) customers has been increased from ₹60 to ₹62 per SCM. For non-MGO consumers, the rate has seen a sharper rise, from ₹48 to ₹60 per SCM. Currently, VGL serves around 71 industrial connections in Vadodara.
There has been no change in tariffs for domestic or transport users. Piped natural gas for non-industrial consumers continues to be priced at ₹52.75 per SCM, while CNG for vehicles remains at ₹82.95 per kg. DeshGujarat
