Morbi: Morbi witnessed an emotional and celebratory atmosphere as MLA Kanti Amrutiya returned to the town after undergoing prolonged cancer treatment. A grand procession, attended by party workers and people from various communities, marked his comeback, reflecting the strong bond he shares with the public.
Speaking to media persons after the welcome procession, Amrutiya expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming support. “I am extremely happy today. Seeing the love I have received from all communities and workers since five o’clock, I truly feel the pain of being away from Morbi for the last two months,” he said. He added that although circumstances kept him away, his energy and commitment toward public service have only grown stronger. “My enthusiasm for work has increased tenfold since my return,” he stated.
I want to tell patients that 50% of recovery comes from morale. One must remain mentally stron (even if the body is unwell). Highlighting his priorities, Amrutiya said his focus remains firmly on Morbi’s development, along with responsibilities linked to various departments of the Gujarat government and his role as the person-in-charge of Kutch. He also pointed to a significant financial boost for the local corporation, noting that the budget has increased from ₹700 crore last year to ₹1,150 crore this year.
With local body elections approaching, the MLA emphasized the importance of a strong political mandate. He said it is essential for the Bharatiya Janata Party to win elections from the taluka to district panchayat levels to ensure uninterrupted development and ease for citizens and the business community under the “double-engine” government.
Amrutiya also raised concerns about law and order during his absence, citing disturbing incidents circulating on social media, including violence, stabbings, and nighttime vandalism. While expressing confidence in the police, he announced that he would personally conduct weekly rounds to monitor the situation. He also urged party workers to report any wrongdoing, adulteration, or activities that could harm the government’s image directly to him.
Opening up about his health battle, Amrutiya shared a powerful message for patients. “Fifty percent of recovery comes from morale,” he said. Recounting his experience, he explained that what initially appeared minor turned out to be a much larger issue during surgery. He underwent a major seven-hour operation involving a six-inch incision and is now in recovery, one month and three days after the procedure.
He emphasized the importance of mental strength, saying, “While a balloon loses air quickly, we must be resilient like a tire.” He also expressed gratitude to supporters, especially Kanabhai and party workers, who stood by him during a challenging time—even when some hesitated to come close due to misconceptions about his illness.
The MLA’s return has not only marked a personal victory over illness but has also reignited political momentum in Morbi, with a renewed focus on governance, public safety, and development. DeshGujarat
