Jamnagar: Spiritual leader Sadhguru has lauded Vantara in Gujarat following his recent visit, describing it as a “visionary” initiative and an exceptional example of human compassion and care.
Highlighting the scale and diversity of the facility, he said that even extensive global travel would not offer a comparable experience. “Even if you travel the world as I have—visit 100 countries and explore forests—you may still not see everything that is present here,” he said.

Spread across 3,500 acres, Vantara houses more than 200 elephants, around 500 large wild animals, over 20,000 birds, and more than 18,000 rare species and their varieties. Sadhguru credited the project’s dedicated staff and its forward-looking approach, noting that the magnitude of work carried out at the facility is difficult to fully comprehend.
Drawing a comparison with global zoological parks, he added, “I have travelled across the world and visited all kinds of zoos. While growing up, I was deeply attached to the Mysore Zoo, but I can say there is no other place like this.”
He further described the initiative as a reflection of a deeper ecological consciousness. “This is an extraordinary work—an extreme example of human compassion and care. Above all, it shows a profound understanding that we are not separate from life on this earth; we are a part of it,” he said.
“What has been done here is truly visionary, wonderful and completely astonishing. I am not someone who gets amazed easily, but I am amazed,” he added.
