Gandhinagar: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of three senior IAS officers from the Gujarat cadre to key positions in the Union government, according to an official notification issued on Tuesday.

Mona Khandhar (1996 batch), currently serving as Additional Chief Secretary in the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department of the Gujarat government, has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment at the Centre.

Arti Kanwar (2001 batch), who is presently the Chief Commissioner of State Tax, has been transferred and appointed as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Textiles.

Meanwhile, Vijay Nehra (2001 batch), who is already on central deputation as Joint Secretary in the Department of Health and Family Welfare, has been elevated to the rank of Additional Secretary in the same department. DeshGujarat
