Surat: The Gujarat government will organise the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) in Surat on May 1 and 2, coinciding with Gujarat Foundation Day, with a focus on accelerating regional industrial growth and attracting investments across South and Central Gujarat.
The Surat edition of VGRC will cover 16 districts, namely Bharuch, Dang, Navsari, Surat, Tapi and Valsad in South Gujarat, and Ahmedabad, Anand, Chhota Udepur, Dahod, Gandhinagar, Kheda, Mahisagar, Narmada, Panchmahal and Vadodara in Central Gujarat.
As per the official press release, the conference will not only showcase regional industrial strengths but also serve as a platform to promote innovation and facilitate strategic investments. Key outcomes from the event are expected to be highlighted at the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit.
Sector-focused seminars will be a major highlight, with emphasis on emerging and high-growth industries such as chemicals and petrochemicals, textiles, gems and jewellery, pharmaceuticals, green energy, and information technology. Opportunities in aerospace, defence, fintech, biotechnology and biopharma, ESDM, IT & ITeS, and MSMEs will also be explored.
Alongside the conference, a Vibrant Gujarat Regional Exhibition (VGRE) will be organised, featuring vendor development programmes, entrepreneurship fairs, and an International Reverse Buyer-Seller Meet aimed at providing global exposure to local businesses.
The state government has been organising region-specific conferences as part of its balanced development strategy. Similar events were held in Mehsana for North Gujarat in October 2025 and in Rajkot for Saurashtra-Kutch in January 2026. The Rajkot conference saw participation from partner countries including Japan, South Korea, Rwanda and Ukraine, strengthening avenues for international collaboration.
As per the press note, the upcoming Surat conference is expected to further strengthen key industries in South and Central Gujarat and add momentum to the state’s overall economic growth trajectory. DeshGujarat
