NHAI Revises Toll Rates at Bharthana Toll Plaza on Ahmedabad – Mumbai Highway

Vadodara: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced revised user fee (toll) rates for vehicles passing through the Bharthana Toll Plaza on the Bharuch–Surat stretch of NH-48 in Gujarat. The new rates will come into effect from April 1, 2026, at 00:00 hours, following official approval from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

According to the public notice issued by NHAI’s Project Implementation Unit (Ekta Nagar), the revised toll will be applicable for the section between km 108.700 and km 192.000, covering a road length of approximately 80.999 km.

As per the revised structure, toll charges for car/jeep/van (LMV) have been marginally reduced for single journeys from ₹160 to ₹155, while return journey charges remain unchanged at ₹235. Monthly pass charges have also been slightly reduced from ₹5,265 to ₹5,240.

For light commercial vehicles (LCV/LGV/Mini Bus), the single journey toll remains ₹255, while the return fare has been reduced to ₹380 from ₹385. Monthly pass charges have also seen a minor decrease.

Similarly, toll for trucks and buses (2-axle) has been reduced to ₹530 for a single journey from ₹535, while return journey charges remain unchanged at ₹800. Other vehicle categories, including multi-axle and oversized vehicles, have also witnessed marginal revisions in toll rates.

For locally registered commercial vehicles (excluding those under national permits), concessional rates will continue, with slight adjustments across categories.

The annual pass for non-commercial private vehicles has been fixed at ₹3,075, while residents living within a 20-km radius of the toll plaza can avail a monthly pass at ₹360.

NHAI stated that the revised rates are part of its periodic toll rationalisation and are applicable to the public-funded highway section. Vehicles carrying excess load will be liable to pay ten times the applicable fee, as per norms.

Commuters can access detailed toll notifications and updates on the official NHAI website.
