IMD Warns of Hot and Humid Spell in Gujarat from April 12

Ahmedabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a rise in temperatures across Gujarat over the next few days, with hot and humid conditions likely to affect coastal areas from April 12 onwards.

According to the latest weather bulletin issued on April 10, maximum temperatures are expected to increase gradually by 2–4°C over the next three days, after which no major change is likely.

The IMD has warned that discomfort due to hot and humid weather is very likely to prevail in coastal parts of Gujarat and Saurashtra-Kutch between April 12 and April 16.

Weather across the state remained dry in the past 24 hours, and similar conditions are expected to continue for the next seven days. No rainfall has been forecast for any district during this period.

The highest temperature recorded in the state was 37.2°C at Bhuj.

For Ahmedabad, the weather is expected to remain mainly clear, with the maximum temperature likely to hover around 38°C.

No major weather warnings have been issued for the first two days. However, from April 12 onwards, isolated coastal areas may experience hot and humid conditions.

The weather department has advised residents, especially in coastal regions, to take precautions against heat and humidity, as discomfort levels are expected to rise. DeshGujarat
