AVC Men’s Cup 2026 to be Organized at Veer Savarkar Naranpura Sports Complex in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: The ‘AVC Men’s Cup 2026’ will be organized from June 20 to 28, 2026, at the Veer Savarkar Sports Complex in Naranpura, Ahmedabad, bringing top volleyball talent from across Asia to the city.

A total of 38 matches will be played over nine days, featuring teams from 12 countries, including India, Australia, Bahrain, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Korea, New Zealand, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Chinese Taipei, and Thailand.

The tournament is being jointly organized by the Sports Authority of Gujarat (SAG) and the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), in collaboration with the Volleyball Federation of India.

Tournament Preparation and Vision

Officials from SAG and AVC have finalized the pool composition and competitive structure of participating teams.

Ms. Nilofer Sheikh, Assistant Director at SAG, highlighted that the event goes beyond competition. She emphasized its role in fostering international friendship, cultural exchange, and regional cooperation.

She added that the state aims to promote volleyball awareness, inspire athletes, and enhance India’s global sporting stature by hosting such high-quality international tournaments.

Boost Ahead of 2030 Commonwealth Games

The event is also being seen as a stepping stone toward the Commonwealth Games 2030, expected to be hosted in Ahmedabad. Organizers believe such tournaments will help prepare athletes and energize sports infrastructure and fan engagement ahead of the global event.
