Bullet Train Work to Partially Disrupt Vande Bharat, Shatabdi Express & Other Trains on April 13

Ahmedabad: Passengers travelling through the Ahmedabad Division on April 13, 2026, should brace for significant disruptions to rail services. A scheduled traffic block for pre-cast portal beam launching work under the ongoing Bullet Train project will affect several premium and regional trains, leading to cancellations, short terminations and rescheduling.
Vande Bharat, Shatabdi Services Affected
The Mumbai Central–Gandhinagar Capital Vande Bharat Express (Train No. 20901) will be short-terminated at Vatva, with services between Vatva and Gandhinagar Capital cancelled. In the return direction, the Gandhinagar Capital–Mumbai Central Vande Bharat Express (Train No. 20902) will originate from Vatva, with the Gandhinagar Capital–Vatva section remaining cancelled.
Meanwhile, the Mumbai Central–Ahmedabad Shatabdi Express (Train No. 12009) has been rescheduled and will depart Mumbai Central 1 hour and 15 minutes later than its scheduled time on the affected date.
Full and Partial Cancellations
Local MEMU services will remain fully cancelled on April 13. The Vatva–Vadodara MEMU (Train No. 69102) and the Vadodara–Vatva MEMU (Train No. 69115) will not operate.
In addition, the Valsad–Ahmedabad Gujarat Queen (Train No. 19033) will be partially cancelled and will not run between Vadodara and Ahmedabad.
Delays for Long-Distance Trains
Several long-distance trains will also be regulated (delayed) due to the infrastructure work:
- Asansol–Ahmedabad Express (Train No. 19436): delayed by around 2 hours
- Howrah–Ahmedabad Express (Train No. 12834): delayed by around 2 hours
- Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra–Jamnagar Express (Train No. 12478): delayed by about 1 hour 45 minutes
