Modi to dedicate Broad Band to Gujarat’s all 13693 Panchayats

On the birth anniversary of freedom fighter Shri Subhashchandra Bose on 23rd January-2009, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi would dedicate an ambitious E-Gram Vishwagram Project from the Haripura village, providing broadband connectivity to all -13693 -Gram Panchayats of Gujarat with communication technology network. It was Haripura from where Subhash Babu had given a call for Swaraj.
In the era of “Technology Enabled Rural Empowerment”, Gujarat has for the first time in Asia; Panchayati-Raj Institutions connected to broadband linkage, a breakthrough in communication technology. All the Panchayats are covered under the “E-Gram Vishwagram project”; the I.T enabled Communication facilities in the premises of Prime Minister of India, now the same facility would be available to village people.
The Haripura Village of Bardoli- Surat – The venue has historic links:
In 1938, Haripura was a turning point in the freedom struggle, the historic speech of Subhash Babu gave a vital mode to freedom movement. Under the leadership of Subhash Babu, in the year 1938, the historic convention of Congress was held at Haripura. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel had selected Haripura for the convention.
Important features of “E Gram Vishwagram Project”:
-Gujarat is pioneer, not only in India, but in Asia, which offers broadband connectivity to all 13693 Gram Panchayats, taking revolutionary strides in rural empowerment.
-The Information Technology network ensures communication links with the global, which is going to benefit common people Government Administrative Services, and Panchayati Raj services.
-Launching of “Pavan Channel” –Panchayat Wide Area Network.
-To realise the dreams cherished by our great leaders and Subhash Babu, after offering floral tributes to Subhash Babu, Chief Minister would dedicate the ambitious “E Gram Vishwagram” project.
-All the Gram Panchayats will share the glory, through “E Gram Vishwagram” Project they would embrace the launching of Pavan Channel-live telecast.
-E-Utsav for the Rural Masses in all the Villages.
-E-Gram Panchayat to issue the documents and certificates, application forms for various development and welfare schemes, including 7/12 certificates to the farmers from panchayats.
-Video Conferencing facilities at all the villages.
-VSAT communication technology based broadband connectivity.
-Free of cost communication between panchayats.
-Common service Centre facility for the villagers.
-Villagers may take advantage of Internet and cyber services.
-The E Gram would gradually take other services under its ambit, like Electricity-Telephone Bills, collecting Visa, E-Postal services.
