Members of Rajput community today gathered outside the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel international airport in Ahmedabad to protest Ram Leela star Dipeeka Padukone’s visit to Ahmedabad. Local police faced tough time to push the protestors outside the airport area. Police had to use some force. At least six protesters were detained. They are likely to be released only after Deepika’s Ahmedabad visit is over. Deepika arrived at the airport in Jet Airways plane. They couldn’t come out of the airport building due to protest. Local police contacted the headquarters to seek more force to take the starts safely to their destination.

Rajput community has protested against the film which is yet to be released at Kutch, Jamnagar, Sanand, Surat, Vadodara, Junagadh and other areas of Gujarat. Many theater owners are not ready to release the film following protests and threats. The film’s release and its trailer are also challenged in the high court.

Rajput community believes that the film show them in poor light. The film attempts to create trouble between Rajput and Rabari communities. Both communities live together peacefully and there’s no history of clash between two, but the film shows completely different picture.

The trailer aired on TV and shared online shows that guns are openly available in market in Kutch’s Nakhatrana town which is not correct.

Meanwhile erstwhile royal family members of Rajkot and Gondal today claimed that during their phone talk with film maker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, they were assured that particular words mentioning particular caste identity will be removed from the film on editing table before the film is released. A letter sent to Yuvraj in this regard is presented below:
