Keshubhai Patel resigns from Visavdar assembly seat

Visavdar MLA Keshubhai Patel(86) today submitted his resignation before the Speaker of Gujarat assembly. Shri Patel had announced his decision to resign yesterday in a small meeting in Bhesan village which is a part of Visavdar constituency. Earlier in the day Gujarat BJP prabhari Om Mathur visited Shri Keshubhai’s residence to meet him. Following Keshubhai’s resignation, Visavdar will witness by-election with Lok Sabha general elections in April/May this year. Keshubhai’s son Bharat Patel who rejoined BJP early this year is likely to contest Visavdar by-poll on BJP ticket.
Keshubhai’s official statement
“Due to (old)age and physical inability I have not been able to actively give justice to my responsibilities as Visavdar MLA, therefore I accept moral responsibility and resign today.”
