Ahmedabad, 15 November 2014
The city of Ahmedabad on Saturday received heavy rain. After dark cloudy sky witnessed for last three days, the city received rain at around 3:50 pm. Initially it started with drizzle but within ten minutes it converted into a full scale round of rain in full force.
There have been rounds of showers and even hailstorms in parts of Saurashtra(mainly Junagadh and Amreli belts) and south Gujarat(mainly Navsari belt) regions. At some places it was so heavy that water logging was witnessed. On third day, unseasonal shower entered into the limits of Ahmedabad.
At 4.10 pm it appears that only some extremely low lying areas of city may face water logging problem for some time, that too in winter, totally unexpected. Indian Meteorological Department(IMD) had yesterday issued general forecast of unseasonal showers in parts of Gujarat.
There are reports of heavy rains from other parts of Gujarat especially coastal Saurashtra and South Gujarat too.
Update: Shower has slowed down at around 4.45 but still continuing post 5.00 pm
