Haryana govt starts process to amend Cow Slaughter Act

Haryana government has initiated the process for amending the ‘Punjab Prohibition of Cow Slaughter Act, 1955’ to make its implementation “more effective and deterrent”.

Stating this here today, an official spokesman said that suggestions had been invited from the people, voluntary organisations, cow welfare organisations to make the Act strong and effective.

People can send their suggestions by January 6, he said.

The state government is committed to with regard to the issue and related suggestions too can be sent, the spokesman added.
