Lack of enough hotel rooms, is perhaps the biggest challenge the organizers of Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2015 are facing for last few days.

Recently when captains of industries from across Gujarat attended a high-tea event hosted by Chief Minister Anandiben Patel at her residence in Gandhinagar, Fiance Minister Saurabh Patel in his address said, “Issues are there, even we are facing some issues. Like say, everyone wants suit in hotel, but there are limited number of suits. Parking of private planes at Sardar Patel international airport is another challenge, because there’s limited parking facility available.”

The state government has booked around 900 rooms in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar in three-five-seven star hotels, but this is not enough. Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited(TCGL) had proposed tent cities at Adalaj and Science city as alternative, but the proposal was turned down by the government.

Insiders say, organizations representing builders and developers are asked to make ready some flats to host the delegates of Vibrant summit. Moreover the government is also looking at options outside Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar and arranging facilities at some good hotels in Nadiad, Kheda and Mehsana.

The best suits available in city will be possibly booked for Secretary General of United Nations Mr. Ban Ki Moon, US Secretary of State John Kerry and Australian Trade and Investors Minister Mr. Andrew Robb.

Saurabh Patel had in his address to Gujarat industrialists had said that Kerry may stay in Ahmedabad for night and attend Vibrant Gujarat even on second day.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be staying in Raj Bhawan(Governor house) in Gandhinagar during his visit. Some renovation work at Raj Bhawan is taking place at present in this connection.

About the challenge regarding parking of planes, the state government is arranging alternative parking at other airports close to Ahmedabad. There will be more planes flying during, before and after summit to fly delegates.
