Industrialist Sareshwala named Urdu university Chancellor

Gujarat-based businessman Zafar Sareshwala has been appointed as the new Chancellor of city- based Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU).
Sareshwala, who will have a three-year term at the central university, is Chief Executive and MD of Parsoli Corporation Ltd.
According to a communication received from Ministry of Human Resource Development to the Vice-Chancellor’s Office here, President of India, in his capacity as visitor of the University, has appointed Sareshwala to the post for a term of three years, a release from MANNU said today.
Sareshwala is fourth Chancellor of MANUU, established in 1998 to promote and develop the Urdu language and impart vocational and technical education in Urdu medium through conventional and distance modes.
He succeeds Syeda Saiyidain Hameed, a former member of Planning Commission, it added.
