Speaking at the valedictory function of the 7th Vibrant Gujarat summit today in Gandhinagar, union home minister Shri Rajnath Singh said Gujarat has some karishma in its soil that always works.
He said, Gujarat model of Good Governance and Development(GMGGD) is point of discussion today elsewhere.
He pointed out that the first condition for development is good law and order situation, and in Gujarat, a woman can travel outside on road even at 12.00 in night.
He added that he thinks this is inbuilt part of Gujarat’s development model.
Rajnath remembered some of the finest national icons gifted by Gujarat to the nation including Sardar Patel and Dayanand Saraswati.
On another son of Gujarat, Shri Narendra Modi, he said that he changed political idiom and political discourse in India.
He said if he starts counting Narendrabhai’s brain child initiatives, the list will be too long.
Rajnath said, “I didn’t take birth in Gujarat but I was thinking sitting on this dais just now and even while arriving at this place that I was born as son of Gujarati Devi(Rajnath Singh’s mother’s name is Gujarati Devi).
Rajnath said Gujarat has witnessed smart planning and quick execution, and there can be many example of this, but one example is Mahatma Mandir itself which was constructed in 180 days.
He admired entrepreneurship spirit found among Gujarati people.
Rajnath said Gujarat is not just the land of opportunities, but in fact it is mother of opportunities.
Rajnath described FDI(Foreign Direct Investment) as Friendly Direct Investment and stressed on friendly approach with investors.
