GSFC investing Rs 100 crore in nylon fibres manufacturing

Gujarat State Fertilisers & Chemicals Ltd (GSFC) is investing Rs 100 crore to diversify into nylon fibres manufacturing and cater to construction and infrastructure industries.
“We are investing Rs 100 crore to diversify into concrete reinforced fibre (CRF) and nylon reinforced fibre (PRF) manufacturing for construction and infrastructure industries,” GSFC Chairman and Managing Director S K Nanda told PTI.
The company has set up a unit having capacity of 750 tpa of CRF/PRF at Surat. The facility has inbuilt capacity expansion of upto 3,600 tpa, Nanda said today.
GSFC says it is a pioneer in caprolactum having 70,000 MTPA and nylon value chain products. From caprolactum, the company produces nylon-6 polymer for engineering plastic, film and fibre applications. It has now introduced Gujcon CRF-PRF nylon-6 for construction and infrastructure industries.
Gujcon CRF/PRF are secondary fibre reinforcements for concrete and plaster, respectively. They have major application in RCC & PCC, flooring, roads, bridges, pre-cast structures and waterproofing.
