Arvind to make big bang entry in to customized clothing segment

Gujarat based Arvind Limited, an over US $ 1 billion Lifestyle and Apparel company in India announced today to make entry in to the customized clothing segment with its aggressive plans to put its premium fabric brand ‘Tresca’ on a fast growth track.
Addressing a press conference here today Mr. Susheel Kaul, CEO- Lifestyle Fabrics of the company said that the company was one of the few fabric players in eastern region to suggest fashion and colour trends for western countries.
He said, ‘Tresca will be introducing two new fabrics – Immaculate (a premium quality wrinkle free fabric) and Tencel. The newly launched Immaculate is the world’s first Non-Iron fabric with a rating of 4DP while Tencel is a blend of Cotton and Tencel, and is 100 Percent natural. By targeting penetration in Tier-two and Tier-three cities, Tresca, which was launched three years back, will increase its distribution by 10 times from 1100 to 10,000 outlets in next two years.’
‘We have put our premium fabric brand on a fast growth track with an intention to double the revenue in next two years. The growth will be fueled through new product launches under the brand, penetration into Tier-two and Tier-three cities, through vast network of 10,000 outlets and entry into select overseas markets like Bangladesh, Dubai and Indonesia.” Mr. Kaul said.
He further added, “The growing need for tailor made solutions opens up the scope for such fabrics. We expect both Immaculate and Tencel to contribute 20-25% to the revenue of Tresca in next two years with the rising per capita income in the country giving a boost to the disposable income to the buyers”.
Arvind Limited’s own product brands include Flying Machine, Colt, Ruggers, Excalibur amongst others while its licensed product brands have big global names like Arrow, Gant, Izod, Elle, Cherokee, US Polo Assn. It has a joint venture in India with global major like Tommy Hilfiger and GAP, and also has retail brands like Megamart, The Arvind Store, Club America, Next and Debenhams.
