Process of installation of gates over Narmada dam begins

The process of installation of gates over Narmada dam in Gujarat has kicked off. The works are likely to complete by March 2017.
Construction of 23 out of total 28 piers has completed upto top height of 144.5 meter, while rest 6 piers have achieved 142.3 to 144 meter height. By 20th of October, all 29 piers will achieve full height of 144.5 meter.
As piers work is nearly complete, the final task of installation of gates over the dam has started. It may take 18 months period to complete this task. As the BJP is ruling party in all concerned states including Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, and the party is also ruling in center, the task is likely to complete by March 2017 without any further obstruction.
The government has spent about Rs 110 crore to achieve 144 meter height.
