Now a play on Narendra Modi’s journey of life; First show happens in Surat with 150 artists on stage

Surat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s journey from childhood in Vadnagar to his rise as the country’s leader was brought alive in an impressive blend of drama and music at Surat on Sunday. A grand live play titled “Namotsav”, featuring more than 150 artists, was performed at the Trade Center in Sarsana, in presence of thousands of spectators.

The play, directed by Viral Rachchh with script management by Sairam Dave, combined theatrical elements, music, and large-scale floats to narrate Modi’s life story. Iconic symbols such as a tea kettle, train, camel cart, elephant, and replicas of Vadnagar railway station were showcased on stage, creating a visual experience.

The production highlighted important episodes from Modi’s early years to his political career, culminating in a dramatic depiction of the Indian Army’s recent Operation Sindoor. The narrative stirred a range of emotions among the audience—tears during scenes of maternal love, smiles during light-hearted moments, and swelling pride during patriotic sequences.

Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi, Forest and Environment Minister Mukesh Patel, Mayor Dakshesh Mawani, Municipal Commissioner Shalini Agarwal, Standing Committee Chairman Rajan Patel, City BJP President Paresh Patel, along with MLAs, social leaders, and citizens, attended the performance organized by the Lab Grown Diamond Association.

The event has been specially curated to coincide with Prime Minister Modi’s upcoming birthday on September 17. Organizers announced that “Namotsav” will travel across Gujarat in the coming days to inspire children, youth, and citizens with the story of Modi’s journey and values.

Sunday’s spectacle in Surat marked the beginning of this series, leaving the audience mesmerized with its blend of drama, dance, and music, and setting the stage for more such performances across the state. DeshGujarat
