Gandhinagar: According to the Statewide Bear Census-2022 conducted by the Forest Department, a population of approximately 358 bears has been recorded in the seven districts of Gujarat as of the year 2022. The state conducts a bear census every five years. Vijay Nagar Polo Forest to be closed for tourists for 3-day bear census

Sabarkantha: The Vijay Nagar Polo Forest will remain closed for tourists from June 13 to June 15, to conduct a census of bears. A notification to this effect was issued by the district collector of Sabarkantha.
