Gujarat EV Sales See 75% Year-on-Year Jump in March

Ahmedabad: Driven by fuel shortage concerns amid the West Asia crisis and a rush to avail expiring tax benefits, electric vehicle (EV) sales in Gujarat surged 75.5% year-on-year in March, with registrations of pure EVs more than doubling. According to data from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Gujarat recorded 12,729 EV sales in March 2026, up from 7,252 units in March 2025. Vadodara: India's largest four-wheeler electric vehicle manufacturer Tata EV has introduced mega chargers at three places on National Highway 48. The first is located at Shrinath Food Hub, 40 km away on the Vadodara - Surat highway, the second one is at Shanti Complex in Vapi, and the third one is at Hotel Express-Inn in Ghodbandar.
