Gandhinagar: The Centre has approved Rs. 1097.59 crore road works for Gujarat including a new four lane bridge over river Sabarmati near Dharoi dam on National Highway 58. The new river bridge will replace a low level cause way. This project also includes two vehicle underpasses, 3 small bridges and 4 nala. Polo forest (North Gujarat) : A youth from Anand died after drowning in a river in Polo forest. Total 9 friends living near Jakatnaka in Anand had reached Polo forest in an eco car for a trip. Five of them went to bathe in a river beside a dargah in polo forest. A 21-year old Arsil Salimbhai Vora drowned in the river. His friends could not rescue him. Vijay Nagar Polo Forest to be closed for tourists for 3-day bear census

Sabarkantha: The Vijay Nagar Polo Forest will remain closed for tourists from June 13 to June 15, to conduct a census of bears. A notification to this effect was issued by the district collector of Sabarkantha. The census is conducted at temporary and permanent water points in the respective area based on the assumption that the wild animal will come to quench its thirst at least once in 24 hours during the Summer.
