Vadnagar: The Antim Sanskar (final rites) of martyred jawan Raysangji Javanji Thakor was performed with a Guard of Honour in his native Sulipur village in Vadnagar taluka. Vadnagar observed a strike today in honour of the martyred jawan. The truck of the Indian Army in which he and other jawans were travelling had drowned in the Tista River in Sikkim on Saturday. PM Modi to inaugurate Pakyong airport in Sikkim

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on his second visit to small state Sikkim on September 23. He will inaugurate the state's first airport at Pakyong, located 39 km from state capital to put Sikkim on the aviation map of the country. He will also address a public meeting during his one-day visit. The new airport has undergone trials. Commercial operation of flights will commence from this new airport in the first week of October. Gangtok: Sikkim today claimed to become the first state in India to have an open government data portal.
