Gandhinagar, 29 June 2012

Reacting to team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal’s remarks against the Gujarat government, senior minister and govt spokesperson Shri Jaynarayan Vyas today said that it is Kejriwal’s attempt to create controversy.

Shri Vyas said, “Gujarat govt has not opposed Lokayukta appointment, it has objected only the fact that constitutionally prescribed procedures were not adopted in appointment of Lokayukta.”

On Kejriwal’s remarks over Lavad village land issue, Shri Vyas said, “no Gauchar land has been allotted to proposed Raksha Shakti University in Lavad village. The university is going to come up over 300 acre padtar land of Gujarat government. Gauchar land of Lavad will continue to be with the village panchayat. Collector of Gandhinagar has allotted 90 hectare govt land to Raksha Shakti University through proper procedure.”

“Kejriwal has directly jumped into the Lavad issue without studying the facts,” Shri Vyas added.

On Kejriwal’s remark over Gujarat minister Purushottam Solanki, Vyas said that as per the Gujarat High Court direction, the Gujarat government has to communicate with the court and not with media or others on this issue.

Vyas said that Kejriwal’s remarks reflects his disrespect to constitutional bodies.
