One more person killed by crocodile at river Narmada

Crocodiles in Narmada river have killed another person in recent weeks. Akshay Manubhai Vasava(15) from Deroli village of Karjan taluka was pulled by crocodile at Nareshwar in Narmada river and killed in water. Akshay’s father Manubhai who was sitting next to his son tried to rescue his son from grip of crocodile but he was unsuccessful. The crocodile injured Manubhai’s finger.Dead body of victim was sent to Karjan health center for postmortem.
In last one month period, crocodiles have killed three persons including Akshay Vasava. Killing of an NRI male and 9-year-old girl child from Zanor village are yet fresh. In another incident a hand and leg of unidentified child were found on Borbhata bet. This too could be a similar incident. People have spotted groups of crocodiles at Shuklatirth, Tavara, Zadeshwar, Maktampur etc places. At some places government has put signboards issuing warning to people not to venture in river.
People living on the bank of river Narmada fear, that suppose if there’s flood in monsoon, crocodiles may come to villages with flooding water. In Bharuch, around 40-50 families of fishermen have abandoned fishing due to crocodile.
