At least 25 Shiv Sena workers on Thursday ransacked Bhavnagar’s Apsara Cinema to protest scheduled release of Shahrukh Khan’s film ‘My name is Khan’ here. The film ‘My name is Khan’ was scheduled to be released in two theatres of Bhavnagar and Apsara Cinema was one of them, but after this incident, both theatres of Bhavnagar have decided not to release the film on Friday.
On Thursday evening a group of about two dozen Shiv Sena activists entered Nirmalnagar based Apsara cinema campus and removed the posters of ‘My name is Khan’. The activists damaged theater’s gate and warned the theatre manager not to release Shahrukh Khan’s film. According to theatre manager Purushottam Mistry, the film would not be released tomorrow in view of current situation.
