Sanskruti Kunj Vasantotsav 2010 begins in Gandhinagar

If you visit Sanskruti kunj during spring festival, you might fall in love with its landscape. It’s unique with lots of natural slopes and streets. Main Stage is at downside and around the stage in three directions there are sitting arrangements. Here in this video you can have a glimpse of the main stage.
10-day long Sanskruti Kunj festival began today in Gandhinagar.
The festival hosts performances of folk-artists from all over the country. On 6th and 7th of March, Gujarat’s Turi Barot artists would present a unique cultural show.
Sanskruti Kunj is located on the bank of river Sabarmati over 12-hector landscaped land.
Everyday between 2.00 pm to 10.00 pm, the place would remain open for visitors in these ten days. Every evening from 7.30 pm, the folk song and dance performances would be presented.
And this is a Haveli in Sanskruti Kunj. It was originally in Ahmedabad. But afterward shifted to Sankruti kunj. Now it is standing here serving curious visitors who enjoy it’s every corner to taste the flavor of culture and heritage of wooden houses.
Here is a DeshGujarat Video showing dance performance of tribal villagers from a small village near Dahod in eastern Gujarat.They perform this dance after wedding ceremony in the evening. Interesting fact is that they sort out their internal disputes that might have occurred during wedding, using swords by infighting while doing this dance. The Music instruments used for music are; Shehnai (2), Nagaaru(small drum) and Thaali(metal plate).
