Narendra Modi deposits Sachin Tendulkar’s t-shirt for auction

To make contributibution for the girl child education fund, Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi today deposited gifts received by him in last some months to the Government-Tosha-Khana. Such gift-articals are to be publicly auctioned in near future for raising fund for girl child.
Modi deposits gifts received by him for the public auction since Nov-2001, soon after he came to power in Gujarat. The amount earned from the auctions are in crores through which a Nidhi that promotes girl child education in the State has been formed. Only in last year, such auctions generated over Rs 1.25 crore.
Hundreds of gifts deposited today to Toshakhana include gold and silver Idols,watches, photo frames, traditional arms, mementos, shawls and Paghdi among others.
The most discussed item deposited by Shri Modi today to Toshakhana is international cricket star Sachin Tendulkar’s year 2003 world cup T-shirt ’10’. Tendulkar’s this t-shirt was gifted to Shri Modi through Baroda based former cricketer Atul Bedade, who is friend of Sachin.
When Sachin came to know ShriModi’s fund raising activity for ‘girl child education’ and ‘save girl child’ campaigns, he gave away his ’10′ number t-shirt to friend Bedade and asked him to give it to Chief Minister Modi to raise fund for noble cause through auction.
