Land issue has held up Infosys entry in Gujarat

Ahmedabad, 10 September, 2011
So what actually is the reason that has held up Infosys project’s foray in Gujarat?
According to the Economic Times report, the government of Gujarat has offered Infosys a 25 acre plot(for SEZ) near Infocity(which was given to Satyam earlier and then taken back) and another 16 acre plot in the Electronic estate(for BPO), both in Gandhinagar. But instead of two plots at two different places, Infosys wants one-single 50 acre plot for its BOP business and software development centre. Another reason for the deadlock is that the price of the GIDC land is yet to be finalized even after several meetings.
In separate report, DNA says that the price of the land offered to Infosys is proving a bit expensive for the company.Infosys has demanded land at a lesser price.
