Gujarat govt mandates Aadhaar, mobile seeding for landowners in 7/12 Utara
July 02, 2025
Surat: In a major move to protect farmers and landowners from fraud, the state government has made it mandatory to link Aadhaar cards and mobile numbers of all account holders listed in the 7/12 Utara land records. The linking process will be carried out through e-Dhara centres, where account holders must personally visit and upload their details.
According to officials, this step aims to enhance transparency and prevent land-related scams. Once the Aadhaar and mobile numbers are seeded, any attempt to modify land documents will trigger an alert to all account holders via SMS, ensuring they are immediately informed. This will help prevent land grabbing, legal disputes, and fraudulent claims—especially in cases where multiple owners reside in different locations.
The process of updating Aadhaar and mobile numbers at e-Dhara centres across the state begins today. Farmers have been urged to complete the linking process promptly to safeguard their rights and avoid future land-related issues. The move is expected to directly benefit lakhs of farmers by ensuring timely alerts and legal clarity in ownership records. DeshGujarat
