Ahmedabad, 29 August 2013

-Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi reached Delhi today afternoon.

-A police complaint has been filed against contractor, builder and engineers under sections 304, 308 and 114 in Vadodara’s Manjalpur police station in connection with yesterday’s event of VUDA building collapse in which 11 persons died.

-Thanks to Intelligence Bureau network, Indian Mujahideen founder Yasin Bhatkal has been arrested from Nepal/India border. Bhatkal is involved in several bomb blast cases across India. He is wanted in Surat and Ahmedabad serial bomb blasts of year 2008. Surat Police today said that Bhatkal will be arrested through transfer warrant for questioning in connection with year 2008 blasts.

-Asaram Bapu today left Surat and went to Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh. Asaram ashram released a video of his yesterday’s Surat satsang sabha. As per this tape, Asaram in reference to Narendra Modi said, “I don’t call him NaMo. I call him Modi Malla. He is Malla, and therefore he is in power for last ten years against all challenges. Sometime I tell him that I want to hold his neck, and he replies may God give you such power. And I reacted, no no such time should not come.”

-Surat based Ghazal writer Ratilal Anil ( Ratilal Mulchanddas Rupawala) is no more. Born on 19 February 1919 he was 94 years old. Shri Anil wrote life sketch of Mahatma Gandhi and Indira Gandhi, his one liners were published as Chandarna, Markala, his poetry books are Damro ane Tulsi, Mastini paloma. He wrote his memoir titled as Safarna Sathi-Ghazal sahitya na itihasno dastavej. He was awarded by Gujarat government with journalism award, Sahitya Academy award and Vali Gujarati award.He had worked in Gujarat Samachar, Gujarat Mitra and other newspapers. During the freedom struggle he was jailed for six months with Ravishankar Maharaj, Ganesh Vasudev Mavlankar and others. For 43 years he was editor of Kankavati. He served as Secretary of MahaGujarat Ghazal Mandal for many years.

-Police lobbed four tear gas shells to control crowds following yesterday’s group clashes in Manavadar town. The situation has been brought to control after use of force including lathicharge.
