Rajkot, 6 April 2014
AAP candidate on Rajkot seat, Pinalben Savalia has returned party ticket following a road accident.
Savaliya claims she suffered fracture on right leg due to two-wheeler accident, and decided to return ticket.
Candidates returning tickets is nothing new for AAP. At least seven candidates have returned their tickets nationally due to various reasons. The most common reason is lack of support from party.
Take an example of one Tripathi who was journalist and given ticket to contest from a seat in Uttar Pradesh. While returning ticket he said the party claimed huge number of members, but when he sought a list, the actual number of members was very small. Tripathi said party was not extending fund or any other support, and candidates were asked to spend their own money or to collect fund on their own.
