Surat, 3 December 2014
Ahead of Diwali, Gujarat Chief Minister had visited southern most town Vapi and asked district collector so submit a draft of development of Vapi. In reference to that meeting, the Collector of Vapi has submitted development draft in state government.
The Collector has proposed construction of a ring road connecting Vapi with Daman and Silvassa. He has also suggested various options like mono rain, metro and BRTS to enhance connectivity between Vapi, Daman and Silvassa.
On instruction of Chief Minister, Chief Town Planner of Gujarat PI Sharma had visited Vapi, Valsad, Daman and Silvassa and contributed various inputs on development draft of Vapi.
According to district collector Dr. Vikrant Pande, Vapi is ideally situated between Mumbai and Surat. Someone living in Mumbai can choose up-down to Vapi for job or business. Vapi is well connected through India’s busiest highway and railway line that connects Mumbai to Ahmedabad and Delhi. While Vapi has major industrial presence, almost zero unemployment and considered a developed town, adjoining places like Daman and Silvassa are places of tourist attraction and those areas are centrally ruled. Thus Vapi has ample opportunities for further development.
