Gujarat Lokayukta submits annual report to Governor

Gujarat Lokayukta retired High Court Justice D P Buch handed over the Lokayukta’s 17th annual report to Gujarat Governor O P Kohli, it was officially announced here today.
According to a press release issued by the Raj Bhavan, this is the first annual report, after Justice Buch took over as the fourth Lokayukta of Gujarat in December 2013.
Being a statutory body, the Governor is the immediate authority above the state Lokayukta and all annual reports are first submitted to him.
After the Governor signs the report, it is sent to the to state government, which places it before the cabinet and tables it in the Assembly, former Gujarat Lokayukta S M Soni said.
According to him, the annual report usually contains details about cases received as well as cases pending before the Lokayukta.
