Dhinoj observes bandh, people hold rally, block highway against nuisance of liquor

Dhinoj village near Chanasma in north Gujarat observed bandh against liquor dens and police inaction.
For last one month, women and youths of this village have formed Yuvak Mandal to protest nuisance created by liquor. Dhinoj Yuvak Mandal had given bandh call on Monday against menace of liquor which evoked total response. Educational institutes and emergency services were barred from bandh call.
Large number of women and youths marched in a rally from Holi chakla at 10.30 am. The rally reachded Radhanpur Mahesana highway and blocked the traffic for one hour to lead attention of police and district administration.
The villagers left the highway only after Police Inspector HL Rathod arrived there and promised to take action against the menace of liquor trade.
It should be mentioned that due to pressure of police in Mahesana, bootleggers have shifted to surrounding places including Chanasma and Dhinoj. Chanasma town had recently observed bandh and held a rally protesting menace of liquor.
