GMDC to run an Engineering college
September 15, 2015
Bhuj
Gujarat government has taken an in-principal decision to hand over the management of Bhuj based government engineering college to Gujarat government arm Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation(GMDC).
Three years ago, the state government had directed GMDC to start engineering college in central Gujarat town Khambhat and allotted land for Re 1 token rate. However GMDC was of opinion that it had no project in Khambhat and its most projects are in Kutch district, and therefore government should hand over Bhuj engineering college.
After long discussions, the state government recently took a decision to hand over Bhuj engineering college to GMDC.
GMDC has now sought details of infrastructure and existing management from college. After some procedures, the college will be taken over by GMDC under public private partnership model.
