Poachers at Nal Sarovar bird sanctuary surrender nets to Morari Bapu

As many as 35 poachers on Monday surrendered nets to Ram Kathakar Shri Morari Bapu and pleded to give up hunting the birds in a function held at Nal Sarovar birds sanctuary near Ahmedabad. Shri Morari Bapu requested the State government to provide alternate employment to them. The villagers were mostly from Shahpur and Vekariya villages.The initiative was organized by Manav Seva Trust which also intends to hold pad yatras in other villages in future. Cleaning of the coast of Nal Sarovar and making it plastic-free were other motives associated with a three-day yatra. Meanwhile on this occasion Shri Morari Bapu made an announcement to bear the expenditure for building 8 toilets in Nal area villages. Shri Morari Bapu’s follower NRI businessmen made announcement to build 100 toilets in this area.Shri Morari Bapu has earlier contributed to the cause of saving Whale Shark off Gujarat coast. After Shri Morari Bapu’s campaign, fishermen off Gujarat coast have completely abandended Whale Shark fishing. Fishermen suffer damage to their net but make free Whale Sharks, which has been named ‘Wahali’ by Shri Morari Bapu.
