Bottled Gangajal now available at post offices in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: Bottled ‘Gangajal’ from Rishikesh now locally available in Gujarat and that too at affordable rate.

Union Ministers Ravi Shankar Prasad and Manoj Sinha on Sunday launched the new scheme which made easy availability of Ganga water at all post offices across the country.

Two varieties of Gangajal one bottled in Gangotri and the other one in Rishikesh, some 300km downstream are available at post offices.

has vanished from the shelves within two days of India Post having launched the sale from its 47 head post offices throughout West Bengal.

Gangajal, packaged in bottles of 200ml and 500ml in Rishikesh is sold from Ahmedabad city’s 3 head post offices including General Post Office (GPO). It will be available soon at all 115 post offices across Ahmedabad soon.

While small bottle is available for Rs 15, the larger size bottle is available for Rs 22. If someone wishes to get bottle at home without visiting post office, he/she can order it online. In such case, packing charge and postal charge will be payable. Online service will be started within a week.

Online order can be booked on www.indiapost.gov.in website. Payable charge will be Rs 28 for 200 ml and Rs 51 for 500 ml. Yesterday over 50 bottles were sold without any advertisement or announcement.

The initiative was taken up by the Narendra Modi government to deliver the holy water from the Ganga at the doorstep of every Indian across the length and breadth of the country using the vast postal network.
