AAP govt’s claims on saving money on flyovers ‘lies’ as per RTI report: Congress
July 21, 2016
New Delhi:Delhi Congress unit chief Ajay Maken today termed Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s claims that AAP government had saved crores of money on construction of various flyovers as “lies”.
He said Congress party will hold a demonstration on Sunday when Kejriwal inaugurates a flyover from Vikaspuri to Meera Bagh to “expose the lies” of the AAP government.
Citing “RTI reports”, copies of which were handed to press, Maken at a press conference here, claimed that the flyover from Vikaspuri to Meerabagh was tendered for Rs 407 crores in February, 2013 but the AAP government has spent Rs 450 crore on it and still balance works like horticulture, rain harvesting, rain water pipe are “pending”.
He alleged that money saved in building these flyovers across the national capital was during the “Congress reign” and not during the Aam Aadmi Party’s time.
Maken also claimed the world-class ‘skill centre’ at Vivek Vihar in national capital was approved by the cabinet under the Congress rule.
“When its been only last year AAP came to power in Delhi, how can he claim that his government started the skill centre and successfully placed four batches of students”, he asked.
