Talgo train trials through Vadodara and Surat in Gujarat next week

Vadodara: Vadodara and Surat are two cities in Gujarat that shall get halts during Spanish Talgo train’s trial run, in first week of upcoming month of August.
Spanish Talgo train, trial of which are going on at various stretches is expected to be pressed into service on Delhi-Mumbai sector in future. Talgo train envisages the journey between Delhi and Mumbai can be completed in about 12 hours.
Two cities of Gujarat that are going to benefited with possible introduction of Talgo train are Vadodara and Surat on Delhi-Mumbai sector.
In total three trials are scheduled to be conducted in first week of August. The trial run on 1st August will take 14.05 hours to connect Delhi and Mumbai at 130 km speed. Trial run on 3rd August will take 14.00 hours to connect Mumbai and Delhi at speed of 130 km. Trial run on 5th August will take 12.55 hours to connect Delhi and Mumbai at speed of 130 km.
During trial run, the train will have 9 coaches which include one executive class, four chair cars, one caffe area, one generator car and one coach for equipment.
It is learnt that Talgo will leave Delhi railway station at 19.55 and arrive at Surat railway station next day at 07.06. After five minute halt it will leave for Mumbai at 07.11. It will reach Valsad at 07.48 and Virar at 08.56. It wll reach Borivali at 09.15 and after five minute halt there it will reach Mumbai Central at 10.00. Thus the train wll take 3 hours to travel between Surat and Mumbai.
With operation at 130/hour it will take lesser time for journey between Surat/Vadodara and Delhi/Mumbai compared to speedy trains like Rajdhani and August Kranti trains which are operated at 120/hour speed.
